Our Mission
The mission of New Castle Prevention Coalition (NCPC) is to address the issues that lead to use and abuse of Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs (ATOD) by teens, young adults and their families.
Our Vision
To have a healthy community, free of trauma caused by alcohol, tobacco products and other drug use.
HISTORY
New Castle Prevention Coalition(NCPC) formalized in 2010 and became its own 501 (c)( 3) in 2015, with a goal of reducing substance abuse by addressing causative issues such as crime, unemployment and underemployment, elevated high school dropout rates and community trauma. The Coalition’s focus is the 12 communities (Oakmont, Dunleith, Rosehill, Mansion Park, Arbor Place, Garfield Park, Overview Gardens, Holloway Terrace, Mayfield Manor, Simon’s Gardens, Rosegate and Mobile Home Village and Apartments) that parallel the Route 9 Corridor from Rogers Road to Memorial Drive, north to south, and Route 9 to Route 13 east to west, where prevention activities will have the greatest impact.
